Picnic in Hyde Park
Hyde Park is one of the most famous parks in the world. It is located in the busy city centre of London and it is the most popular place in the English capital to picnic, stroll, play, or simply escape from the traffic and noise of the city.
If you are a person who likes to play football, Hyde Park is ideal for you. The park is 253 hectares (630 acres) and people always get together to kick a ball around or play a friendly game.
In Hyde Park, there is a large pond called the Round Pond. There are many swans and ducks that live by the pond. You can often see parents and their children feeding the ducks with bread. There is also a lake called the Serpentine. There, people can hire a rowing boat and spend the day rowing, exercising, or sunbathing in the middle of the lake.
In the park there are also very beautiful gardens but you are not allowed to pick flowers from the rose gardens. Normally, you can see a child running into the gardens with a mother or father close behind. There are thorns on rose bushes that can be very dangerous and sharp, so parents must mind their children at all times.
There is also a playground for children in Hyde Park. There are swings and slides where children can swing, slide, or just play and run around with their friends or parents.
In Hyde Park there is also lots of grass and trees, ideal to have a picnic on a warm day or take a stroll with your partner, girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, or husband. Sometimes couples can be seen just lying on the grass staring at the clouds, enjoying the day in the park, away from the busy city centre.
